The book is full of sound. The "stomp, stomp, stomp" and "crash, boom, bang" along with the sweetly drawn illustrations will put this at the top of your little one's list of favorites. They will love to say/read the words with you.Ricardo Jacksonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3761655892185024707.post-54769203919665866922012-11-27T02:32:40.000-08:002012-11-27T02:32:40.000-08:00I love this book. You look at her being despondent, or angry, or jubilant, and you can feel what she's feeling. There's an energy in these pictures that perfectly matches the sound pictures created with the text - the bang boom CRASH of the thunder, and later, of Jazmin's marching the rain out of the street (even the weeds came out!) so she can have her parade after all. Any library would be enriched by this book.Jim Hydenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3761655892185024707.post-26327258119246832522012-10-10T08:32:40.000-07:002012-10-10T08:32:40.000-07:00Loved this sweet story from a Pacific Northwest wr...Loved this sweet story from a Pacific Northwest writer--we know all about rain. Does Jazmin let it spoil her parade--no! She stomps, jumps and splashes in the rain. Great book for youngsters showing how to cope with unexpected rain. Jazmin is in a baton twirling group and she sad to see it pouring. She tries to stop the rain. When she can not-- she stomped, splashed, skipped and shouted. Her stomping, splashing, jumping and twirling makes the others take notice and join her.Manuel Meadowsnoreply@blogger.com
